The soundproof tunnel is used when the existing Sound Barrier wall cannot lower the noise due to the road expansion or Manhattanization of surroundings.

(The Sound Barrier tunnels in Korea are installed at Okgu Tunnel in Shihwa, Gyeonggi and DongSeo express way in Busan and Pyongchon area at Beltway around Seoul, Dangsan railroad bridge, the 2 nd Juckjeon in Yongin, and Daelim-Susaek Tunnel.)

The DongSeo express way in Busan was installed at the early of construction. The existing metallic acoustic plates are assembled and upper ceiling area was open and the frames have angled shapes. The soundproof tunnel at Pyongchon area in Beltway around Seoul has a round frames at ceiling. The ceiling is open around 10% and assembled transparent soundproof walls at the wall, which has glare effects.
